Henry Zhang of Palos Verdes Peninsula and Rebecca Kuang of the Greenhill School engaged in a demonstration round so that the rest of the camp could see this topic in action and learn a few things in the process.
Students continue to experiment with different arguments in practice rounds, so the opportunity to see two of the country's very best doing the same highlighted some of the benefits and pitfalls of potential strategies.
We also encourage the audience to think through how they would make a decision were they judging the round. There's no better way for debaters to understand the perspectives of their judges than actually taking a few steps in their shoes.
It looks like VBI debaters like what they saw.
